Cuyo is the mountainous region along the Andes in the central west of Argentina.

Mountaineers worldwide visit to climb Aconcagua (6969m), the highest peak outside of the Himalayas.

The region also boasts the Ischigualasto Provincial Park, better known as the valley of the moon, a World Heritage Listed site by UNESCO.

Another big draw to this part of Argentina is viticulture. Many travelers hop on the wine route developed over recent years between Mendoza and San Rafael to visit vineyards and taste the locally produced drops, including the renowned Malbec wine.
